- Home Work as Care Work (2022)
- Abstract: This peer-reviewed piece documents the multimodal writing and carework of two dual-career academics as they navigate the pandemic in a newly purchased home. Both have faced some degree of mental wellness obstacles at some point, and the stories here provide some (pre-pandemic) background that they believe establishes their responses to the pandemic and what carework looks like living through the pandemic. Ultimately, carework, their home, and their hobbies have converged in such a way that leisure activities and the results of those leisure activities bring them joy and satisfaction, which have proved monumental in supporting their wellness over the duration of the pandemic.
- Safely Social: User-centered design and difference feminism (2019)
- Context: Safely Social began as a digital project for a class centered on social justice and access. Myself and two classmates worked collaboratively on proposing the design and development of a smartphone app to support domestic violence survivors in navigating privacy settings on smartphones. This research project has been presented on at national and international conferences, and has a peer-reviewed book chapter in the book Composing Feminist Interventions, edited by Kris Blair and Lee Nickoson. Below are a few examples of materials developed as a part of this research project.
- Map of activity stream from early planning and assessment of relationships and interactions associated with domestic violence.
- Interactive wireframe of the proposed smartphone app.
