Blogging Purpose Statement

It’s August 2025, and I am now in the position of an Assistant Professor. This means that I am working towards earning tenure to, in essence, keep my job. To earn tenure, I primarily need to focus my attentions on researching, reading, writing, thinking, and publishing. To that end, I’m going to use this space to do some less-polished writing and reflecting on what’s happening in my life. My goal here is that the “messiness” of this drafting will serve me in developing my own thoughts, feelings, and positions on these topics and serve as fuel for future research projects. As such, this will primarily have an academic focus, though given what I know about myself as a writer, it’ll likely also include personal anecdotes and connections as well.

Note that I will be striving to publish a blog weekly to capture my work in the past week.
